Corn types: what type of corn to grow on a small vegetable garden

I have not posted here in a very long time. Anyway, came here to say "Hi" and ask a rather unusual question. I need help understanding corn types. Basically, I'm after a particular type of corn (non sweet) that is popular in South Asia. Usually (the street vendors) heat the corn on a charcoal fire bed and coat it with sauce( a mixture of lime, chilly powder and salt). It taste absolutely amazing. I have a small piece of land on our family property that I want to make use of and grow this corn.
The nearest I can figure out (lack of knowledge rather), it is what they call "popcorn" corn. I found a EBay listing for the seeds.
60 South American Popcorn Seeds Superior Quality Heirloom Popping Corn Seeds | eBay

Do you guys think this is the non sweet type corn?

i don't think that is what you want, when heated that will explode.
it is probably a form of field corn, used for grain. when picked at the proper time, field corn is just as sweet or better than sweet corn.
