92-93 versus 94-95 Gauges and Clusters

The ECU controls the speed limit of the vehicle. The PSOM just creates the speed info of 8000 pulses per mile for the ECU and speed control.
From playing around with quite a few speedo PSOMs, they are only good to about ~120MPH(feeding the VSS input with signal generator) before they flake out and stop processing the VSS input. Some held better speed than others I discovered too.
There is a way around the speed limiting, it involves a divide by 2 digital circuit that you can divide the 8000 pulse per mile and fool the ECU to seeing a slower speed. Other than that, the ECU will have to be reprogrammed.

Well, the article is 10 years old. However...
Until you get down into the performance sections, everything sounds like 100% Ford marketing information from 93 & up & with the exception of the computer/speedometer info is just what I've heard & read about these things since I first started following them in 93.
So other than the chip "switching on fans" & "modifying the S hose with dryer duct"
Be interested in your take on exactly what misinformation Hemmings' was perpetuating.

I guess I was the only one who read it...
"Each seat has six-way power adjustment as well as a unique adjustment to allow for better leg support."
Say NOTHING about lumbar
