Hi there I own a 1985 f250 4X4 I am thinking about lifting my truck with shackles. I currently have a 4 in Rancho lift but would like to get more lift. Has anyone done this, what brand?

 

If you look in the rear, I believe you will find if you extend the shackles, you will be lowering the truck, not lifting it. There are kits to turn the rear shackles around upside down. It's called a rear shackle reversal.

If you are thinking about extended the front shackles, that's a bad idea. You won't find anybody selling anything like that. If you still have the ttb frontend, you will need to get another kit to lift it any higher. If you have a dana 60 you will have a another option.

 

You might want to consider a body lift. They are inexpensive and will get you 2 or 3 inches of additional tire clearance.
