Carb size?

10's and 11's is horrid! Idle in the 12s is not great, but the idle will be a lot smoother there than in the upper-13's. (Depends on a lot of things) Are you using PCV?
I take it Truckee is giving you some jetting / rod points to try? Try for high 13's at 30 - 40 mph, 14+ above that. May need to play with timing too.

Gotcha. The instructions say not to wire it to ignition system. Not sure why. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. No radio right now I jetted down one size today, didn't make much of a difference. Go down another size? How do I check vacuum for my engine?
Sorry, I didn't see your post and question. I don't think you want to use an Acc power feed, only difference is that if you turn it to Acc to listen to the radio or something, the gauge will power up. Should come off the Ignition terminal at the switch.

You can turn the distributor clockwise just a bit, maybe 1/4" to advance. Just to see.
I can't say enough that you need to get the ignition right or make sure it's right. before you tune the carb. The ignition system will affect the a/f just as much or more..as the carb.
When you can, Check the compression too. It's part of the triangle
