I have a 1996 Ford F150 5.0 5spd manual trans. Im having a problem with the sensor on the tailshaft of the transmission. Im trying to find the wire for that sensor and dont know where to start. Can somebody point in the right direction please?

The speedometer signal comes from a sensor on the top of the rear end. There is a tone ring attached to the ring gear. Sensor pickups a signal and sends it the the PSOM and then on to the ECU.
