I'm pretty sure due to the contract, their best options are to either trade him away or bench him for just about the rest of his contract.
Also, I read that 4 other 49'ers are now doing the same thing he did...sigh

This tends to be true for both ends of the spectrum.

The growing protest movement spearheaded by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick gained four additional supporters Sunday afternoon in Carolina.
Linebacker Eli Harold, safety Jaquiski Tartt, cornerback Rashard Robinson and safety Antoine Bethea all lifted their blarfists into the air while the national anthem blared throughout Bank of America Stadium to protest racial injustice and police brutality, as first reported by CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco.

Before the Miami Dolphins took on the New England Patriots, Dolphins running back Arian Foster knelt during the anthem, repeating his protest from last week, per the Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad.

The right to protest is protected by both the U.S. Constitution and the Texas Constitution. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states that “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble.”

Absolutely true... That doesn't mean they can't be fired though.
They work for a private company as part of a larger organization (NFL) who has all kinds of rules about conduct.
This looks like the actions of a bunch of overpaid bad sports, who will only hurt the NFL and poison what are already horrible race relations. Way to go guys, for taking the high road and setting the example.

it will be interesting to see what, if anything the NLF does about it.
i know if i was making millions i wouldn't risk it.i would talk to someone behind closed doors in advance to get the ok first.wouldn't you? who's to say these boys were not asked (possibly payed?) to do this behind closed doors either, know what im saying? food for thought.you know what they say about politics right? follow the money.....the NFL sure has a lot of it.....and a really, really big audience.just saying.
