Grinding while in gear and lugging

Hey I have a 1983 F-250 4x4 4 speed manual. While its in gear it will grind, if you push in the clutch it will stop. Its also lugging or pulling also. The grinding seems to get worse the faster you go or the higher the gear. Please help can't figure out what's wrong

First welcome to the forum.

When you say "in gear" would that be say at a light and in neutral and clutch up?
Then it stops when you push in the clutch?

If so I am thinking something with manual trany. When was the last time the oil level was checked? If level is ok then thinking input shaft bearing or pilot bushing.
