But this brochure pic that I posted earlier has the same images in it, and in the lower right there is a banner that says "Ford! America's Best Selling Medium Heavy Trucks", and it's in English.

Would not be the first time a car/truck manfg. had pictures printed in the brochure that never made it to what the people would get.

And yes I have seen some stuff that was only used/made for south of the border cars that were pretty cool looking.

Maybe the four-spoke steering wheels came exclusively on the trucks with the red TTB axles...

Careful! I don't want everyone to know about that option as I plan to use it on Dad's.

I made a little bit of progress yesterday, I started to tackle the mess of wires and hoses on the firewall and painted it. Cleaned and painted under the cowl and removed all the dirt and leaves in there. The previous owner(s) made quite a mess of the electrical. I will be spending quite a bit of time on Gary's EVTM pages I think...

Before:

After:

I spent some hammer time on the firewall floor seam area to make clearance for a down pipe. Someone had done this previously but I worked it a little more.

Last week I was able to visit both the Flagstaff and Prescott junkyards and between 3 trucks I was able to piece together a decent pair of OEM bumpers with the rubber trim inserts:

They are not perfect but nice enough for a "user" pickup. 99.9% of the time I see these they are bent. That really bothers me. These have other blemishes but at least they are straight.

Good score on those bumpers. I had to find a new front bumper for me 1990 f250, and it was a pain to find one as nice as the one that was on there before...

It's a lot of work to get all the way back to the firewall of an A/C truck..

Looking good!

Not sure how things are in Aridzona but my truck was *packed* with leaves and mud by the cowl drains.
Here in the northeast we get enough rain to keep it wet forever down inside there.
I'm tempted to leave the rubber drains off just so I can flush them out.

I like how this is coming together.

Yeah, I had about 6" of really nice composted leaf/pine needle top soil above each rubber drain. I was wondering the same thing... Why are they there, and wouldn't it be better if the debris could just wash out? Unless someone can think of a good reason to leave them in, I'll probably just delete them. Only possible thing I can think is that dust could billow up through the cowl when driving on a dirt road.... But that is a long shot. Any forward movement puts positive air pressure there.

A lot of people glue window screen to the inside of the louvers or switch to an '87-'91 polka dot punched cowl to try and keep the debris out.

I've seen that... I didn't realize the polka dot cowls were from a brick nose. I like the look of the slots better but they do let a lot of crap in (as I just found out). I might try the window screen idea. Thanks!

I talked to Justin Anderson on Facebook, and he said the heat shield under the passenger floor pan has to go for turbo downpipe clearance. So I got rid of that today, and got a little more clearance with the sledge hammer after it was off...

Then I cleaned up the cross member and front frame rails. What a gross job! There are many running jokes about how much oil IDI's puke out, and the build up on my cross member was no exception. It took me half a day to get it somewhat clean and painted. It definitely looks better and will be nicer to work around...
