I think that replies should be done through pm`s, emails, what are your thoughts? It would reduce a lot of clutter.

I agree Morris! The same thing happens in the "Member Build Threads" The rules are pretty straight forward in my opinion! Also, thanks for all you do here on FTE!

Makes sense to me. The only problem I see with it is that newer members cannot PM (either inbound or outbound) and it would be hard to make contact with them.

Newer members could still reply directly, it would still cut down most of the clutter.

I'm still fairly new here so please forgive the question. There does not seem to be all that many post in there. Maybe 4-5 a week. What is the thought behind not allowing for sale items to have their own thread? Seems it would help the seller have a better chance of having their items seen as well as reduce the email clutter.

Most other FTE forums are not allowed to post ads except in the main classifieds to avoid clutter in the the tech forums but in this one we are allowed to have our own classified section.

I think what you guys have been doing in the past is about right you let the gray area slide some and most people who have been on FTE for some time operate in an fair zone on the selling. I would like to see more input/education from the sponsors on products and installation of the products like mid fifty did for a while

I forgot here's a pic and it's not for sale

Agreed. But maybe a short message like......PM sent.............so others know that someone has an interest in the part.

Later!

I think the short message would still kind of defeat the purpose of the PM/email only replies.

PM only is my vote. I get enough emails and don't need more that don't concern me.
