That's how it was for us in Lino, Randy. That poor pump would run non-stop after any rain much less a big rain. Some rains part powered it. Last summer we had to pull all the carpet because of that. We had more rain today, but at least it drains fast here. Sand for dirt, but a very high water table.

Since the pump had a tendency to walk across the floor of the sump basket until its float would hit the side (thereby jamming it) I made a sump-pump restraint with HD Zip-ties.. It seems to be holding up... Will check it every day for a while.

A lot of farmland under water here - even fields that have been tiled since there is no where for the water to exhaust from the tiles... Corn stalks are really weakened and if the fields don't drain soon, they will start to fall over in the wind..
Tough year!

Good morning everyone. Enjoy Saturday!

Randy, my pump had a kit the attached to the bottom and had three fingers that kept it in the center of the basket.

Good morning guys...
I will take a look at Menards to see if I can find one of those Dave... Their should be something built in or mandatory by code to keep the pump from walking like mine did...

Good afternoon everybody.

I walked the local Humane Society's 5k this morning with the wife and Team Assclown. We raised almost $100 for them. And it didn't rain on us!

Good morning everyone!

Hit the river yesterday and had a great time. Tried cruising from Lakeland down to Hastings and then up into the Twin Cities on the Mississippi. Never been that way before, and we ran into a lock shortly after turning West in Hastings. There were barges blocking the way, and after waiting 30 minutes we gave up.

Turned around and decided to see if we could make it to Red Wing before we ran out of time and had to head back. Stopped into the fuel dock at Treasure Island for a bathroom break before running into another lock. Process of locking through to the other side could take over an hour depending on traffic, and at this point it was almost 4:00, so we turned around and headed back.

Total of about 78 miles, which took 16 gallons of gas. We all think trucks are thirsty, but this little boat can't even get 5 MPG!
