Hurt my engine, 1964 F250 Camper 292

Good luck with your swap. My swap is a winter project now. I might get a couple hours after work or for a while on the weekend if nothing else is going on. Were your motor mounts in the right place. The 292 in the 64 had the front engine mount under the flywheel pulley and the rear mounts were part of the bellhousing. It had a crossmember to bolt it to but it was just in the way for the 460. I had to grind the rivets off and then cut the crossmember to remove it from the truck. I used a tranny crossmember from a 1990 F150. It was about 3" too long so I cut it and split the top piece so it would fit over the lower piece then used a press and clamps to hold them together and welded it with the overlap. Bought some motor mounts for a 460 into a 1964 truck (side mounts). I got lucky and I can use the drive line from the 1989 F250 and it fits. I decided to replace the floor pans and front cab mounts as long as I have everything tore apart now. Waiting for the cab mounts. Still need to mount the fuel tanks with the intank fuel pumps and the high pressure pump. Best of luck to you with your swap
Do you have pics of you mounts for the 460? I am in the process of doing the same swap on my 62 f250. I would like to see what mounts people are using and where they are placing them.

It takes time. I hope you are having fun. Here is the link to the Motor mounts that I used hedman.shptron.com/…-64-ford-pickup-motor-mount-kit .
Here are a couple of pictures.
This is before the motor was set. Still had to notch the front crossmember
Front motor mount comes out and I welded a piece of 1 1/2" angle where it use to be.
Engine mount on Passenger side. Had to move forward from where it is now.
Drivers mount. Had to move forward before I fastened the mounts to the frame. Make sure the exhaust will clear the steering box. Have to relocate brake line after move.
The tranny mount will have to leave.

I would greatly appreciate the pics sir. With bolting the mount in did you have to drill new holes? Also I have seen these mount and there is a cross member one out there that uses a whole cross member with mounts attached to it like this one Big Block Ford Current Big Block Motor Mount. When you sat the 460 on your mounts did they flex at all? do you feel that they will support the weight and torque of your 460?

I have some pictures for you with the motor mounts bolted in. The engine swap is kind of waiting for some floor pan, lower door pillar and cab mounting bracket replacement before I get back to the swap. I didn't know the bottom of the cab was as bad as it was until I started to tear things apart.
Passenger side with the mount bolted in place. The mount on the inside of the frame covers up the hole where the brake line use to go through.
I had to notch the front cross member. Not much extra room but I had to move the 460 engine a little bit forward.
Drivers side mount. The exhaust is connected and there is room to tighten the pipe to the exhaust manifold in front of the steering gear box.

I moved the engine forward to get room around the steering box and still use the original exhaust.
The tranny fits on mounts made from a 1990 F150. The frame width is wider and frame rails taller on the F150 than the 1964 so I had to cut and weld
Floor work on the 1964 Camper.
at a couple of places.
Still working on the floor. Back to the engine when that is done.
Top view of transmission in place.
The view from the floor. The tranny on the modified mount, the exhaust in place and the driveline connected. Got lucky and can use the driveline from the doner without modifying it.

I finished the cab mounts and floor pans. Right now working inside the cab on the foot pedals. The accelerator for the 460 EFI was easy but I am moving the brake master cylinder about four inches to the left. The old position came out right above the driver side valve cover. I'm trying to adapt the foot pedal assembly from the 1989 F250 to fit under the dash. I need to be able to use a hydraulic clutch for the ZF 5 transmission and that is built on the foot pedal assembly. It will take some modifications but it had better work.
Just got home last night from an extended vacation with the wife. The grass is almost as tall as the lawn mower. It will be a couple more days to get caught up around here before I can even think about working on the truck.
How is your project going?
