Hi all, just picked up a used 2012 F250 SD 6.7 PSD , 6 speed auto. What should the normal trans temp be? I was watching the trans temp in the info center and it was showing around 190*. This is under normal driving conditions.

iirc normal operating temp is 80-100 over ambient temp

190 sounds about right, you have a thermostat controlling your transmission temperatures. You should see this temperature when fully warmed up year round.

That used to be the case until the 5R110 transmission came about in 2005('03 for diesel models). Both that and the 6R140 the OP has use a thermostat that regulates temperature. The OP's transmission will run 190* in the middle of winter in Alaska.
Thanks for the reply. My old truck (03 Ram 2500 5.9 CTD Auto) always ran around 140* under normal driving and 160 - 180* when towing. We'll see what it does when I tow the trailer for the 1st time in a few weeks.
That's about the weight I pull also mainly in Florida. I have seen just over 210 at times depending on ambient temp. I have seen other threads that indicate the tranny fluid is designed to run this hot and hotter without any adverse issues.
Happy towing.
