1999 F150 PO443 Evaporative Emission. Need Help

I think this part of a FORD is the hardest to trouble shoot. I am still working a emissions problem. I have got all systems ready for emissions inspection except the EVAP, that will not switch to ready status. I think i will change the can purge valve in the am. I dont think it will help though, as all looks good on the scan tool. Could get lucky.

EVAP problems are evil things. I think most Ford techs hate them

OK, I don't know what happened but the other day I started my truck and the Check Engine light wasn't on.
Can ya'll give me some answers to why it turned off?
I can tell you this, I tend to run around with only about a quarter tank of gas all the time. Add the Texas heat to the equation and tons of vapors are bound to build up in the tank.
Does this have anything to do with the my problem?

Thanks,
Chris

The check engine light may have been off because the PCM hasnt seen the problem occur in a while. I'm not sure how many times til it turns out the light.
I doubt the fuel level made any difference. Other than filling it til it wont hold any more at all, it usually isnt a problem.
