Fumoto F111 Oil Drain Valve leaking

Greetings:
I installed the Fumoto valve to get quick convenient oil changes on my 2004 F250. I run Mobil 1 TDT full synthetic.

I've had the valve in about two months, and at first a small 1-drop overnight leak happened because I didn't have the lever seated well enough ( the valve wasn't properly seated ). I discovered and corrected the problem by adjusting the lever and seating the valve.

Now, I've noticed in my driveway tiny oil spots here and there and pretty sure it's coming from the Fumoto valve.

Questions for all :
1) Has anyone experienced this problem ?
2) Does full synthetic oil find its way out through a normally perfectly functioning valve ?
3) is there a small cap I can but to cap off the Fumoto valve ?

Thanks !

I've used this valve for more then a decade without issue all with syn, but there is always a chance of a manufacturing defect. But first I would be looking towards the gasket as the issue. Have you used something like BrakeKleen to chemically wash the valve then watch to see where wetness have be coming from. Sometimes if it's a slow leak I've dusted the part with some white powder - lime, baking soda, talc, what ever is in the house to see it better.

I've used Fumoto valves on four vehicles for something like 20+ years of combined service life with ZERO leaks, all of them running synthetic oil. I would make sure it's not the seal,

If you have a nipple valve, a hardware store should have some kind of cap that would work to confirm it's the ball valve leaking and not the seal. When I ordered the block drains on my truck one of the gaskets seemed different than the other, but I was using o-rings so it got tossed into the toolbox anyways.

I'd call Fumoto, maybe they'll send you a new gasket.

I second this advice. I wouldn't even try to correct the issue. I would just warranty it.

I love the Fumoto valve, I have had mine on for about 1 1/2 years.

To Jack's point, maybe first validate where the leak is coming from, not just assume it's the ball valve. Mine too hasn't ever had an issue.

To clarify, I was thinking that he had already known it was the valve.

But yes, of course be sure its the valve.

I have never heard of one leaking. Ive had one on my truck for years. We put them on a lot of our Support equipment in the USAF. No problems. Im not saying yours isnt leaking, just spray it off with some brake cleaner or something so there is no oil on it. Then periodically reach under there and touch it with your finger. Should be clean and dry.

Sure the leak isn't coming from the motor? A lot of the 6.0's will have a slight leak at the tranny bellhousing.
