On the pump module, if your fuel pump has a feed and return line it is a two pipe system.
This system is controlled by the PCM and a Slave relay and is powered full time as long as the motor is running.
.
If a 'single' pipe system, you have a module that controls voltage levels to the pump. It can't control volume and pressure any other way.
Look under the truck at the fuel line/s.
Are there two or just one?
Then you have your correct answer.
The auto parts store goes by what their computer says and it's not always correct.
The sales person is not usually an expert on any specific vehicle and year..
A single pipe system started in 2004.
In rare instances a vehicle could be titled a year behind or a year ahead depending on either the end of production or the beginning production of the next year.
I have seen this happen before. It messes with parts for the vehicle until it is recognized.
Good luck.
