Ford Greyhound

I volunteer at Military Veterans Museum and Education Center in Oshkosh, WI and periodically get to drive this Ford M20 Greyhound. It was the fastest wheeled vehicle of WWII with a top speed of 56 MPH.

Wow! Never heard of those. Flathead V8? I don't drive much faster than that on the interstate!

They are pretty fun to drive but your vision is slightly obstructed to the sides and forget about seeing anything that's behind you.

They were equipped with a Hercules JXD engine mounted in the rear.

It takes quite a while to get it up to speed but I never have been hassled when driving down the highway in it.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting to read about. I read anything I can get my hands on about ww2. The subject and the scope of it all never ceases to amaze me. Particularly how recent it actually was.
