Key on power for Dash Cam

I am looking to see where people powered their dash cams? I am looking for a key on power wire to tap into because the cam doesn't have a parking mode anyways. I already used the white/blue customer acess wire to install my pac module for the radio, so that is out. Ideas?

Mine are all full unfontunately. On that note, nice to see the 17's come with 6 upfitters, not that I can afford one though :P

Okay, here is something I can answer. I am currently installing a front view, Rear view and trailer rear view camera. My Kenwood aftermarket radio has a front and rear camera input. I used a splitter on the rear camera input so I have two different video inputs. I am installing three rocker switches in my overhead center consul, First switch is going to power the rearview camera on the truck at any speed, Second switch is going to power a remote wireless transmitter that in installed in the rear of the bed. (Receiver is installed in the trailer 7' away). I am not using the reverse lights as a trigger as I want to be able to call up either of the rearview cameras at any time.
Front Camera is controlled by the media switch on the steering wheel.
I will start a new thread and keep everyone informed.

Trophy 23,
Isn't that white/blue Customer Access wire powered by a 15 amp fuse? (if I remember correctly - and that's a Big IF for me) - if so, I would think your pac module & back up camera wouldn't be near that amp draw. The only other thing I could think of would be adding a relay triggered by the Customer Access wire but you would still have to run a fused HOT wire from your battery to your relay - which I'm sure that's the part you're trying to avoid.

I feel your pain. I have an 06 and I personally don't feel that Customer Access wire is large enough to handle a 15 amp continuous draw. I was thinking of going the Bosch style 4 pin relay triggered by the Customer Access wire & bringing a 10 gauge fused hot in from my battery to a small terminal strip or separate fused box something like this for $12.00 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A1EQP448COWZL4
just a thought.
