Has anyone seen a Platinum Vinyl Floor yet? My new order is going in on Monday and am really debating it. Live in Western NY and it is always a battle to keep any and all carpet clean with salt, etc... Since I will have the truck for so long I was considering the option but since it is a $75,000+ truck I do not want to regret the decision down the road if it looks too cheap.

 

I was in the same boat...was also concerned about sound deadening, and resale in a high trim level. I've only seen pictures (there are a few online, and Josh posted some in his master thread), but it looks nice. After a lengthily discussion over the ordering table with my dealer, I opted to keep the carpet. I've dropped WeatherTech mats into the last three trucks, so I'll either do that or the new Ford formed versions.

 

I'd just get the carpet. The carpet is the same crappy quality XLT - Platinum. The upside is when it gets stained and salt encrusted, it's quite easy to just buy another carpet and install it.

 

Am I crazy thinking that the 2016 F-150 Weathertech's will be an exact fit on the 2017 SD's?

The fronts might be, the backs won't...unless the F-150's have the nifty pop-up book style storage bin. I haven't looked.

 

The final will have padding under it and will block sound. Had it in all my work vehicles.

 

 

Tha is interesting I was told by my dealer that the premium vinyl floor covering went over the carpet. Does it replace the carpet of go over it.

 

It replaces the carpet. I think it comes with carpet and all weather mats though

 

Well I have an email in to my salesman to see if its too late to remove the vinyl and keep the carpet. Ill just get the Weathertechs.

I never knew that the words premium and vinyl went together so I am going with Weather Tech unless I get a couple of Naugah's this fall hunting season then I will have them tanned up for my King Ranch, show you Platinum boys a thing or 2 about premium Naugahyde...

They only had a Platinum that day. The Platinum and KR will have their logo in the premium vinyl. Lariat down will just be vinyl.
