Name that sound - 85 460
This may be impossible to do via video but I figure it's worth a shot.
I've got an 85 460 (F350) that's making a rhythmic noise up front.
I am planning on replacing the power steering pump as it's been leaking ever since I got the truck (2 months ago) but wasn't sure if this noise was that or the water pump.
Like I said, may not be possible for anyone to identify without being in front of the truck but it's that whooshing/whirring noise that loops.
Appreciate any ideas.

I don't have one of those handy but would a pipe accomplish the same thing?
So my plan of attack is to first replaced what power steering pump, hose, and belts.
Then if I still have the noise I'll replace the water pump and fan clutch.
Is there a chance that a noise like that could be inside the engine? The short block was rebuilt about 2000 miles ago.

Yeah, I'll pick one of those up the next time I get to the nearest town with a HF.
I pulled the belts off the p/s and waterpump and the noise went away. I really think it's the waterpump but I'll go ahead and replace the p/s first since I already have it on order, hook it up and see if the noise is still there.
Thanks
