Need help with parts identification

NumberDummy,

Could you or someone please tell me what the three parts are that I have numbered in the attached photo, and what their basic relationships are to one another?

1976 F250 460 engine/ F25JRC50290

#1) Amplifier assy., EGR Vacuum P/N D5FZ-9E451-B marked D52E-B1A, B2A, B3A

#2) Valve assy., EGR solenoid vacuum. Several different P/N's. There should be an engineering number on it. Post it and I'll cross it over.

#3) Not sure what that one is. Is it part of the carb or part of the EGR spacer? Is there a number on it?

Mike o0o0,Thanks for the reply. I am not so interested in part numbers as I am in what these parts do, how they are related to each other. (interact) I notice they are all connected one way of another by one of more vacuum lines. . . .

Part # 3 in the photo connects to a rod that goes underneath the choke assembly, so these all have something to do with choke control via heat/warm engine/cold engine/vacuum/on/off, etc. Just want to learn.

Still not sure about #3 but 1 & 2 are part of the emission control system that controls the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. That's that large valve at the back of the carb, mounted on the EGR spacer, sandwiched between the carb and intake manifold.

#3 Could be choke pull-off, I'm not all that familiar with the Motorcraft 4300 carb. What's throwing me is I cant see any linkage, maybe that's hidden by the way it's mounted.

Stuff that gets tossed into a box when you swap the intake and carb out for a non smog unit...

Well I believe #3 is the choke pull-off. However, #1 & #2 are not part of the EGR system, as they are not connected to it in any way. 1&2 have vacuum lines that run from carb body vacuum to #1 then to #2 then to #3 in that order. So, again, I am trying to understand how these three components work together to actuate the choke pull off....

How do I ask NumberDummy this question directly? He will know exactly what these parts are and how they work. I am new at this forum stuff, so I don't know how to get a direct reply from him.

are you going to believe him when he tells you the same thing as Mike? Those parts may not be connected to the EGR now, but the were when it left the factory.

Probably a silly question but are there Ford part numbers on them?

None taken.
On the vacuum amplifier the numbers marked D52E-B1A, B2A, or B3A should be on the part. On plastic parts it can be either molded into the part or printed on it or a combination of the two.
And these aren't actually "part numbers". Ford hasn't put a part number on anything since the early 50's. These are "engineering numbers". It's not unusual for several different engineering numbers to cross over to one part number.
