Fiver AC on the road

Fiver AC on the road
Recently went on a trip here in Texas on a 100 degree day. When we got to campground, the inside of the camper was at 102 degrees. We opened windows and ran vents to cool it to ambient outside temperature of about 96, then shut everything and let the AC cool it down. It took about 4 hrs to get the temperature down in the 70's.
So, question, does anyone with a fiver run their generator and the AC units going down the road? Could the bouncing down the road damage a running AC unit? Any other problem come from this?
Would be nice to get there on these hot summer days and the camper is halfway cooled down or kept cool.

It will not hurt the AC. Folks in motor homes do it all the time, as did we when that was our mode of travel.
I would be a little leery about stringing a 20-30 amp power cord between the truck and trailer while underway, so I would do some serious planning if that were my intention. On our rig, the shoreline plugs in in the middle of the rear wall, so it would be a challenge.
If you have an onboard genset and fuel tank, it seems like you would be good to go.
