new to FTE!

Hello.

I am new to FTE. Currently i have a 2000 Ford f350 CCSB 7.3 4x4.

I just completed my first round of upgrades (Thanks in part to clay at riffraff)

garrett Blank EBPV pedestal + code fix + garrett exhaust plate
MBRP 4 inch exhaust all the way back to 8 inch tip
AIRRAID CAI
riffraff parts: HPx, FRx, CCV, CVD, AIH delete + code fix, Tapped boost plug,
riffraff parts: Boots, Clamps, Billet Theromstat housing,
riffraff parts: Billet Intake Manifold Plenums, boost fooler
Garrett 38r w/ Turbosmart wastegate actuator
International Bellowed Up Pipes
AFE bladerunner intake manifold
moroso oil pan
ARP headstuds + new gaskets
revised high pressure oil lines
ford 6.0 Transmission cooler
triple disc torque converter
new rear and front main seals (motorcraft)
Rotella t6 oil, motorcraft filters
ts performance 6 position (not installed.)

Now gents, I am nearing the point of new injectors. I like the idea of single shots. I like the idea of new Alliant AC injectors with tuning. This is my work truck (i have put 70k on this truck this year alone). I tow regularly with it, (5k-9k lbs). I DD this truck. I have had the motor built up to withstand any injector i throw at it for the most part. any ideas?

also, the previous owner oversanded the copper contacts on the PCM so thats why i haven't installed the ts tuner. anyone used to refurb service at swamps to get there pcm fixed up? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to FTE. That's a big list. Never used swamps for that but they should be able to handle it. If your towing every day. AC single shots are for you. Who did the tuning on the TS chip? If it's over the counter per say you want better tuning for your single shots. Did I not see gauges on your list? It should be first.

---oops
i do have guages.
glowshift: trans temp, oil temp, boost.

no EGT (i don't drive the truck hard at all.) but its in the future.
currently i have a triple pillar pod. might go to a quad pod.

TS chip is over the counter burn. i got it on sale from riffraff.
just been waiting to commit to injectors before i send the chip off
to be burned.

then send the PCM off to be repaired.

then spend ALL the papers to get new injectors. lol.

even if you are not driving the truck hard, you are in a sense driving hard when towing, EGT gauge should be on the list and first (dual EGT for best results) for mods, I have planed for my first major "mod" (other then fixing up the mirrors and air box) to have the EGT gauges installed, a chip installed and one or two other gauges that are wanted...oh and don't forget a GPR light mod too...at least you will have a good indicator for when your plugs are on

now when you says dual EGT, you mean one gauge and probe for each manifold right?

i might do the GPR light mod tomorrow. that looks like a 10 minute job and 10 bucks in materials.

Yes dual is one for each manifold, helps when troubleshooting since you can eliminate half the searching.

I love my GPR light.

We can repair your J3 port on your PCM if you would like. Contact me via PM or e-mail and I will give you the details on the process and cost.

We can also reburn your TS chip when it comes time for injectors.

Message sent! Thanks.

Well guys, i completed the GPR light mod today.

do you know what happens to a GPR with 285k on it when you try to loosen the nuts? it falls apart and breaks in half. so after completing everything and being just about finished, i go to loosen the nut. GPR breaks in half. CRAP! run to the parts store. get boned with a "bwd" brand GPR (lifetime warranty FWIW). install the new GPR and get everything hooked up. success. thanks for the suggestion guys.

glowplug relay light mod. basically running a wire from the glowplug side of the relay to an led light mounted to the interior of the truck. so when you turn the key and the "wait to start" light shuts off prematurely you can know when the glowplug relay actually shuts off and the glowplugs have finished their cycle. or whatever.

Ah, I was under the impression that you only need to wait during the colder weather, and that during the summer its OK to just turn the key? Thats what we do with all the rigs at work and they have almost 500k miles

I like to wait for glow plugs to cycle off so I have full voltage to the starter.

well, Jaime74656
i looked through your build thread of "stinky" and i saw that noco plug you bought and mounted into your front bumper for your block heater. that was such a great idea, i ordered one for myself today. that's a darn clean look, son.
