WTF Is This Part Called?

I've been calling this a Flareside filler panel and not getting any kind of hits/response/love. I can't even find it called-out on spec or mechanical drawings...anyone know the proper nomenclature for this piece?

I also found some rust over the windshield that I didn't notice before (I've only had the truck for a few wks and it's at a buddy's place til I can get tags...he's a good friend, but not close).

Here's another bit of rot that I knew about, but didn't know how to explain it properly. Basically it's a splash shield that attatches to the rear fender.

It's rotted through as well as the lower leading edge of the fender(s)...any patches available for that?

I'm counting on doing some fab work, the piece that Ive been calling a "filler" panel is flat but has some flanges bent in 3 dimensions...a replacement piece (or two) would be , in the end, probably cheaper (and more correct) than me cutting and pounding out acres of 18 ga sheetmetal..rear fender patches would be super helpful too. I figger I might be own my own as far as the upper windshield repair goes...

Which area are you talking about, the one highlighted in green or orange? It's kind of a moot point though. Both sections are part of the quarter panel and Ford never offered them as a repair panel. The same goes for the small panel in the fender.
All of these panels would be fairly easy to fabricate though.

Is the area boxed in orange a stake hole sleeve? ... I've never owned a flareside mind you.

Flat metal is just 16g sheet I figure for a bed.

Bzzzzt... that's the sound of a tack weld. Repeat!

There is a company that sells both I believe. The fender patch for sure. I have a flareside but did not need them, but I have seen them. I just looked through my catalogs and don't see it. But 99% sure they exist. Let me think a bit.

Edit. LMC Sells the lower fender panel. I have seen the others, but as HIO says, this would be an easy one to make

You got it Mike and HIO...the smaller green circled piece is the one I'm asking about and the orange bit is a stake pocket.

As far as fabbing up patch panels, it doesn't get much easier than this piece...flat with a couple of flanges/holes. I may have to buy/borrow/make a shotbag to bang out the fender pieces...luckily they don't really show from the outside. I'll check with LMC first, thanks for the tip, benbuilder.

I see a homemade sheet metal brake in my future

My homemade sheetmetal brake is a bench vice with two pieces of angle iron. Works pretty good, not fancy but cheap .

Yep...pretty much what I had in mind too. Should be perfect for smaller panels. Fortunately fo me, the R side panel is in pretty good shape. At least good enough to take a pattern from.

It comes in handy, and when you're not bending metal, you can use it as a vice .
