The ride on my 16 FX4 is so much better than my 06 fx4.
Don't know what all us changed but both had the pretend off road shocks.

My 2015 6.2 f350 rides great even with the plow package. No complaints here at 21k. I have 800lbs in the bed and back tires set at 75 instead of 80psi.

I'm not saying the Ranchos are the best shocks around. I know the Bilsteins are better, but the stock Rancho shocks aren't that bad.

Are the configurations comparable? Did you buy it new? Has it been modified? There are a lot of questions and variables that come into play here.

Look at the specs, 0-2.5" means no lift to 2.5". Just because they were "designed" for lifted trucks does not mean Biltstein didn't make a stock height 5100 shock. I have 60,000 miles on 5100's, on my stock height truck, they are a great shock, especially when loaded heavy. They replaced the junk oem Ranchos.

I also have the snow plow prep package.
I'm thrilled with the ride. Empty, loaded, and towing.

The 5000s are an entry level budget shock. So yes, they aren't great.

I've never had good experiences with Rancho shocks. I switched to Fox mono tube shocks and it improved the ride incredibly. Most quality gas shocks will benefit the ride quality. I also adjusted the tire pressure to match the load carried in the truck.

Have the Fox 2.0's on mine and they ride fantastic, but concerned about towing, which I have not done yet to mine. It will porpoise the truck from time to time at a full stop, and I know another member on another problem just ripped his off because of that issue when towing a travel trailer.

I tow the travel trailer and dump trailer with issues at all. Shocks are there to control the springs. They're not designed to carry the load. If they were the mounts would be much more heavily built.

The RS 9000 are good and strong
The beilstien shocks give a nicer ride and are pretty good off road .
The Rancho will not even come close to lasting as long as the beilstien .
We sell both .

Can you confirm part number for the Bilstiens?

I've got a '16 F350 dually and when shopping for the 4600 series Bilstein shocks it's looks like the SRW and dually shocks carry the same part number. Fronts 24-186674 .....rears 24-185981. Better double check though with the vender of you choice.

The beilstien B8 -5100 are really good they are silver in color .
They also offer a remote resivour shock which in my opinion is the best affordable extremely off road shock #5160 they are about $175 a shock .
You don't want the standard beilstien which is yellow and comes stock on Gm Z-71 package trucks . They are made for lighter duty 1/3 ton truck and the inner valving goes bad . Great on a Chevy but too light for a Superduty .
Me personally I would elect to go for the B8-5100 they are not only proven to work outstanding they also last a real long time .
