Are the configurations comparable? Did you buy it new? Has it been modified? There are a lot of questions and variables that come into play here.

Look at the specs, 0-2.5" means no lift to 2.5". Just because they were "designed" for lifted trucks does not mean Biltstein didn't make a stock height 5100 shock. I have 60,000 miles on 5100's, on my stock height truck, they are a great shock, especially when loaded heavy. They replaced the junk oem Ranchos.

Have the Fox 2.0's on mine and they ride fantastic, but concerned about towing, which I have not done yet to mine. It will porpoise the truck from time to time at a full stop, and I know another member on another problem just ripped his off because of that issue when towing a travel trailer.

The beilstien B8 -5100 are really good they are silver in color .
They also offer a remote resivour shock which in my opinion is the best affordable extremely off road shock #5160 they are about $175 a shock .
You don't want the standard beilstien which is yellow and comes stock on Gm Z-71 package trucks . They are made for lighter duty 1/3 ton truck and the inner valving goes bad . Great on a Chevy but too light for a Superduty .
Me personally I would elect to go for the B8-5100 they are not only proven to work outstanding they also last a real long time .
