Is it possible to switch a Dana 80 with 8x200 bolt pattern to 8x170?

So my uncle is working on a project. We started with a 2008 f250 front and rear with 3.73 gears. Mocked up the front axle got it ready to go then moved onto the rear which is when my uncle realized the sterling 10.5 wasn't wide enough. The leaf mounts on the project vehicle were too wide for the sterling, and making a bracket to adapt the two was way to unconventional.
So he picked up a dana 80 from an econoline van either a 2006 or 2007 got it all mocked up; went to mount the wheels are realized the bolt pattern was different.
So we thought we could just redrill the hubs and get new rotors, but the back of the hub on the dana 80 isnt a flat surface so my uncle doesn't trust it.
I've searched the forum(s) and haven't found anything conclusive, some say the 99-04 f350 DRWs were dana 80s and 8x170, and others say you can drill the hubs.

My uncle has been doing most of the building, i just lend a hand when he needs it.
If anyone has had experience fixing this problem i'd appreciate the help.

There is another thread with a guy going by Sarge who is planning on a dually swap over the winter. I think they were talking about a switch from 8x170 to 8x200 in 2005. I would do a search for it, just to make sure I'm not making things up.

Edit: Here is the thread I was talking about: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...is-winter.html look at post number seven.

Thanks.
Only problem is we are making it into a single rear wheel. Not a dually

99-04 DRW is 8X170
05-pres DRW is 8X200

you need bolt pattern converters. basically a spacer with new bolts . get steel ones not aluminum

and before all the nah sayers jump in and say do not use hub spacers....all DRW's have steel hub spacers in the front, so using steel spacers is not a risk. key is to use steel spacers and not aluminum ones and make sure they are correctly torqued.

yea i think SRW is 8x170 from 99-16, just different wheel offsets. when i got my duallyi found out 05+ was 8x200, and that confused me for a while and i thought all 05+ was 200, but i believe it's just the dually trucks that switched from 170 to 200.
