Flatbed sit too high for a 5th wheel?
I have a 1994.5 PSD F350 4x4 dually with a 5 spd and CM truck flat bed. My wife and I are looking at a Open Range Roamer, and I'm worried that my bed sits too high for a 5th wheel hitch. I do not have a hitch yet, but my truck bed has a recessed gooseball factory built into the bed. I'm looking at redoing the factory gooseball as it's only bolted to the bed, not the frame, and my whole bed is only welded on in the 4 corners to the frame. I was looking at either the B&W companion hitch or the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel. I haven't seen any height numbers for the B&W, but the Andersen sits 12 3/8inches above the truck bed (at it's lowest poisition). My truck bed sits at 43 inches. So I'm looking at around 55 3/8 inches tall. I'm waiting for the RV dealer to get back with me on how high the kingpin sits with the trailer level, but it was at chest level for me (I didn't have a tape measure), so I'm estimating 48 or 49inches high, if the trailer was sitting level. Any thoughts or recomendations? Or will my truck squat that much after I hitch up to level everything out? I just want to figure out my options before laying any money down.

The Companion mounting can be framed up so the receiver is level with the bed, any competent dealer should be able to do the framing.
The 5th wheel hitch height on the trailer is the question. I would hope your truck doesn't squat that far...
