95 460 EFI swap wiring

Hey fellow bronco brothern. I have a somewhat big problem.. i recently bought a 95 f250 with a 460/e40d combo to swap into my 95 bronco with a 302/e40d.. currently the 460 is being rebuilt and ready to put in.. now i know the f series trucks have rwabs and a slectable fuel tank switch vs bronco with 4wabs and a window switch.. so my question i went to swap the wiring behind my dadh today and realized there's some differences in harness which i kinda expected.. the one thing i didnt expect is that the plug for our window switch is different on the f series. So my question is.. is can i reuse my harness thats original to my bronco or should i use the 250s harness. Im concerned that if i reuse the broncos harness that the wiring for the psom and abs will be differnt amd wont work and my trans will be in limp mode.. And if i use the 250s harness that ill lose my rear window function and possibly my fuel pump.. if ANYONE has don this swap in a 92-96 bronco and can offer some insight i would greatly appreciate it

Why are you attempting to swap the dash harness? ABS and fuel tank switches have nothing to do with the powertrain control system (PCM) so you really don't need to go there.
You do have an issue with engine wiring though, because your Bronco had MAF and the F250 likely did not so the 460 engine portion of the harness will not match the chassis portion currently in your truck.

First go back and read my last post again until it sinks in. The PCM has absolutely nothing to do with chassis functions like power windows and fuel tank switching, so put your dash back together and forget about it. All the work you need to do is in the engine bay.

You have 2 options, rewire your engine compartment with parts from the F250 including the engine harness and 7.5L PCM, this will require some surgery on the chassis portion of the harness in your truck, or adapt the 5.0 engine harness to the 7.5 motor and get a tuner for the 5.0 MAF PCM and recalibrate it to work with the bigger motor and injectors.

Okay.. so my plan was the reuse the wiring harness that runs from fender to fender along with the engine harness and pcm. Thats why i was thinking i needed to swap out tue wiring behind the dash to match.. so im not completely understanding what you mean.. by using the main chassis harness i lose the plug for the abs module located on the drivers fenderwell due to the fact that the 250 is only rwabs, so the rwabs module is located in the dash wiring and is behind the glove box.. so unless i swap the dash harness out to match i will lose abs which kills my trans.. now if i switch put the wiring with the 250s dash wiring then i lose the rear window switch and im not aure if the fuel pump wiring is the same and will run the pump properly.. im not real literate on wiring but im wiling to learn.. i just want thi done right, ive spent 5k on just the motor.. i just need ot to the point i can start the motor and break the cam in and drive it around the block.. after its squared away im going to use fiveologys mass air kit to convert it to mass air which reuses my way1 pcm..

Your truck is already mass air isn't it? If it is your eventual plan to put MAF on the 460 anyway then don't *******ize the wiring harness you have now just use it and get a tuner for the existing PCM.

Yea it was a mass air 302 with a way1 pcm.. i asked if i could use the 302 harness and i was told that i couldn't. At this point the motor is about done so i just need to get it in and running.. i figured easiest way would the use the original wiring to the 250 just to get it going.. im just worried about putting to many eggs in one basket and getting hung on it

Who told you you couldn't use the 302 wiring? The two motors have all the same components so everything will plug in you may just have to lengthen a few wires. Then you just need to tell the original PCM that it has more engine displacement and larger injectors to work with which means you need a tuner like the moates quarterhorse or a chip.

Transplanting wiring from the F250 will be a much bigger chore because of all the differences between the trucks.

A few different people from a couple groups on fb and a local tuning shop here in boise,ID.. the only difference i personally notice is that the tps on my 302 had a pig tail with a plug on it v.s. the 460 tps that just plugs directly into the sensor.. my 302 also had a knock sensor on it. Other wise i was told that i had everything i needed other then the layover harness i needed from fiveology.

The Fiveology harness is intended for SD trucks that don't have sequential fired injectors and a MAF sensor but you already have all that wiring. Yes there may be a couple thing that are wired differently right at the motor but you got it there so just lay the 5.0 harness on the 460 and have a look, worse case is you have to change a sensor or 2 or cut away some of the tape and loom to stretch some wires a little bit. The knock sensor isn't a big deal, you need a tuner anyway so you can disable this with it and then just leave the connector hanging.

Another thing I noticed is the 460 in the 302 have different firing orders can that be changed in the PCM as well?

These PCMs can't be flashed you have to plug in an external module or chip, so you could order a basic chip and get it running but the Moates setup will be better especially if you plan more upgrades in the future because you will never have to pay for another tune again.

What would be a good chip to order for it just to get it up and going?? I have to call around and see if the local tuners are familiar with moates and quarter horse.. do you know where I can find a wiring diagram for the throttle position sensor plugs between the Bronco and F250?
