Sad day, gonna trade my Ex in.

Well,

We had no plans to trade or sell our 2000 Ex limited 6.8 but the dealer offers us 30% more than we paid for it so Monday I have to take it in. I sure have enjoyed this forum and I had plans to drive this beast until it died then resurect it as a 5.9 12v diesel but maybe that'll have to wait for another donor truck. A 2016 Ram Mega Cab 6.7 Cummins is what we picked up. Thanks.

Interesting! I just paid $5500 for a low mileage 2000 6.8 XLT EXC in SoCal at a used car dealership....in excellent shape as well and taken care of...new oil, aftermarket shocks, new brakes, good tires. I was shocked at the price but drove ~50 miles one way to get it...It's LA so 50 miles is like 150 elsewhere!

I'm not sure what would make me more sad, Getting rid of the Ex or having to make car payments. I guess both. Sad day indeed Sorry for your loss

Sorry to hear that.

However I've never heard of a Dodge or Ram with a CUMMINGS! They usually only put the CUMMINS in them!

That's a very hard offer to turn down, but hopefully you're able to spend a little quality time with the Ex before you drop it off, to only sit in a car lot full of Dodges. I hope you enjoy your new purchase.

You must've had some plans if you were at a dealership....

Anyways, I suspect the new vehicle will soften the blow. Congrats.

Yes we've had plans to get a 250/2500 Diesel truck for awhile to tow a 5th wheel in the future and the Mega can was just nicer than the Ford, plus, it had a Cummins of course. We didn't expect them to offer us $6000 for the Ex, we paid $4000 for it about a year and a half ago and have rather enjoyed it. But with the new truck and my Ranger, an extra truck the size of the Ex, doesn't make sense, I'd love to have the Ex, Ranger, and Ram but it doesn't seem reasonable. Not when we can get 6k for the Ex.

We would love to see your new addition to your family. A friend of mine just picked up one and loves it. I tried to find a negative about it and couldn't besides it doesn't say ford.

Congrats on the new truck, I'm sure it will be nice. Just don't drive around with the invisible trailer behind you!

Those Mega cabs are nice! If only they had an option for an 8' bed. Can't fit much in those tiny beds. But doesn't sound like it's a work truck anyway.

WTH, there's room behind the back seat? Is that what constitutes "MegaCab"
