Heavy Towing Question

So, I guess since the Teton will be entirely empty , no water in any tanks, I should be ok pulling it home .. I will be going not over 55 anyway, because it's all highway.
As for the airbags, mine are rated at 6200lbs each :-) and with 800lbs on the pull behind tongue, I run about 25 lbs. but that is estimated, because I have auto right height. so if I drop 4500lbs onto the rear axle, the truck wont go down

I feel that I'm at my limit Aaron! My Travel Supreme was just as heavy but the weight was more evenly distributed. But even with this extra tongue weight of the Mobile Suites it does handle very nicely.

I have no basis personally but it sounds like quite a load. Honestly I'm a nervous wreck pulling mine. Not for weight but with my gals in the truck a brake down like with the old box sure ruins a vacation.

Breaking down with the gals is no good! I am fine with most situations but throw in the misses and the other two weee gals and my beard turns gray! They do not see the adventure or challenge.

Or quitting this nonsense all together before it kills me. Besides, my wife has had it after 12 years of six month trips, can't image why! lol I was hoping that the new to us camper would keep her going but IDK. See, if you read into that last sentence you see I don't want to quit, just sick of break downs! I'm nervous now because I'm short on spare parts and won't be home for another month and a half.

Glenn, I completely hear you. I always really enjoy our trips between Texas and California. I love towing and seeing my truck work, but the last two trips with major transmission problems really took the fun out for me. It sucks. It's even more stressful with a wife and toddler (at the time) in tow. Hopefully though, our next trip in January will prove to be a good one with no problems. Apparently JW found the issue and took care of it. We'll see! I always get the road bug though, especially this time of year.

You're missing out. It's the nicest thing ever. After you get to know your truck you can tell just by looking at a hill whether or not your truck will have to downshift, and if it does you just tap the OD button, lock it out, crank up the hill and then click it back off and done. Don't even need to touch the go pedal.

Love my cruise, if it quits its going to get fixed. Control freak? lol Try it, I think its amazing how responsive it is in changing conditions on the road. Also I hate these ****** who, oh, he has to be passed because look at that big camper. So they pass then get in front of you and slow down.

Glenn, nothing more aggravating than those type of drivers, I had one do that to me trying to pass him with my TT and he went the same speed I was going, so I gently started driving into his lane causing him to speed up and let me get back on the lane, I tail gated him for good bit till he got of an exit.

That's right Adam, very frustrating! One day I was on a 55mph road and this guy was going 50mph. Came to a passing lane and when I tried to pass him he sped up to 70mph. Then after the passing lane on two lane road again he went 50mph. The next passing lane he did the same thing to me !! With my wife screaming at me I WOTed it ignoring EGT's, (wife too) got along side of him and showed him how many brain cells he had! There are so many idoits out there, even at 66 I have a very hard time putting up with them!
