1964 F100 - Power Steering

I've only done this on a '66 but my understanding is that it's a tough job on the pre-1965's because of the different axle/suspension setup. I know that on my 66 and others from the later 60s the parts from the 1970's will bolt right up there, but not so with the 64's. I seem to recall reading somewhere that a Toyota set-up might work on those earlier models like yours but I don't know what's involved. There's probably some conversion kit you could buy too but those tend to be pricey. Someone else on here may be more help than me, but that's my 2 cents worth.

I used an aftermarket "power assist" kit on mine. Looks very nice being all shiny and it helped a lot but I fore-see replacing O-rings often. For the price it was not worth it due to I'm not a big fan of leakage even if it's a drip here and there. What starts as a drip usually ends out being much more before long.
You can do it with Ford parts using the 73-79 setup but you'll need to do a lot of fabricating.
The Toyota setup looks like a better option to me.
search "Toyota power conversion".

There's this option:

It looks like only 6" of space under the dash is required, and not too much money.
