Wife has a '15 Cadillac SRX with those features and they can be turned off. I'm sure some newer model Fords have the tech as well. I would bet Ford would allow them to be turned off.

I have them on my 2015 F150 Platinum and yes, both of them can be turned off. I suppose the 2017 Super Duty has the same technology.

Agreed, they can both be turned off. Just stomached another 30 min Mr. Truck video on YouTube and the Ford guy said it.

Would that be the same tape used on the check engine light before the states all had computerized inspection stations?

I was joking, sort of. The rear view mirror's front-facing camera's function is for lane keeping only so I imagine if it can't get a signal it will warn the driver or just not present any information.

I knew you were joking. Same as the electrician's tape on the vcr. I am pretty sure there is a setting to turn the lane departure off. I will try it for a while but I don't really want the truck to remind me of errant driving every time I change lanes or exit the highway on purpose.

I would be surprised if the lane departure does not work similar to the Lincoln system.

My wife's 2016 MKC the lane departure can be turned on or off.
If you use the directional to exit or make a lane change the system does not alert.
If you are slowly going over to the lane the steering pulls the vehicle back over into the center (not a feature of the Super Duty)
If you move quickly towards the lane and start to cross over the steering shakes to get your attention.

If you take your hands off the wheel to play lane pong a dash message pops up reminding you to keep both hands on the wheel.

If you hit the alert to many times a coffee cup icon pops suggesting you need a rest

So far with her car I really like the adaptive cruise, lane departure, auto dim high beams and rain sensing wipers, all features on the new truck as well.

I look forward to trying it out and hope I am successful in accepting its help. Our 2015 MKC does not have it. The auto headlights however are almost perfect and the rain activated wipers are much better than the ones on the 2005 Lincoln (past) and I really look forward to both features. The headlight dimmer in particular is faster and more accurate than I ever am manually.

Agree, and the headlights are way better on low then the previous MKX.
My wife still does not like the car though.

Latest complaint - she doesn't like the sound the steering wheel makes when you let it slide through your hands.

Hoping the LED's on the new truck are just as much an upgrade.

The headlights on the 2015 are focused halogens. They work very well but I wish for the LED's. Same on my new truck but not willing to add 12 inches to the wheelbase and $5K to the cost and a bunch of stuff I don't want.

Try Armor All on the steering wheel. Maybe it will slide easier!

Our MKC is a 2016 and they are HID.
I actually got a price on a trading it in the other day when in for service.
I can break even if I go for an Edge Titanium.

After thinking about it several days, screw it, she can keep the car, I am ordering a new truck early 2017
