Non-Starting 1972 F-100
Hello I am the new guy......I have a problem. My 1972 F-100 will not start. Engine is a 360 C6.
The truck has been sitting for a long while. It ran a couple of days ago until it warmed up and then shut off. All the fluids are new. I figured maybe the coil so I have replaced that and all the plugs and wires.
It runs when I use starting fluid until it burns it out of the carb and then cuts off again. After that it just cranks but won't turn over.
I am thinking maybe the gas.....but I put in new gas into the tank....and a new filter but it looks like it could have some rust in it......
Thanks in advance.

Check to see if the fuel pump is indeed pumping. Mine went out just a couple of days ago. Either remove the output line at the pump or at the carb, have someone crank the engine over and see if it works. BE SAFE, Please don't do this on a hot or warm engine. If the pump is good, then it has to be carb related. Like Alex said, you may need to clean at least the bowl out. A turkey baster works good. Don't ask me where I got one, she's still looking in that drawer. Welcome to THE FORUM.

Definitely sounds like a fuel issue. I would disconnect the rubber fuel line from the pump and run a hose to a 5 gallon gas can to see what happens. From there you can check the filter then the pump. If it's been sitting it is probably a good idea to go through the carb as well. Get some carb cleaner in those jets. Good luck!

Well since no one mentioned it start by looking into carb after a few cranks of the engine then by working the throttle linkage to see if it's getting any gas at all can lead you to your problem by going through the fuel system.
Ps I'm sure you answered your own Question though:
