460 timing?

460 timing?
I read on here somewhere, couldnt find it in "search" that the timing on my 1994 460 efi could be improved over the stock setting. Could some one explain this , and how I go about doing it? Also why would it be wrong from the factory? My engine is stock except for no convert on exhast. Thanks Jim
