OT - New toy to work on

We picked up a new toy on Monday, a 1954 AMI F80 Jukebox. I've been cleaning it up. Need to get a service manual for it. Only missing a few small parts, one bulb, a cam lock, needle and one of the selection glass.

Holy moly what a score! Did it come with records too? Looks like your DVD/CD collection is as big as mine.

That is cool. When we were kids back in the late 50s the man up the street had the jute box franchise for the Washington DC area. My older brothers baby sat for his kids. He had a jute box delivered to our house and every week we would get the 45s that came out. They were all marked promo copies. When the cops showed up at his house to arrest him our parents were shocked. He was connected to the east coast mob. About two weeks later the police came and got our jute box but we kept the 45s. I asked mom what ever happened to them and the answer was - oh we threw all those old things out when we moved. !!

Mixer man, We got about 130 45's, but some have seen better days. And that's about half of the DVD/Blue Rays, we love our movies! Laurie has about 150 to 200 45s that she has saved from her younger days

r reed, That sound great and I also want "One Piece at a Time"!

49f3dls, What a story. What a shame... Wish I had all those 45s now!

The great thing about the modern world wide web, there's all the schematics and manuals and service bulletins likely available for download, often in .PDF suitable for printing, repair guides and (probably) a web site and 12 step program support group dedicated to that particular model. Years ago there was SAMS but they cost a little bit. Parts for them are easier to come by than ever. From what little I know about Jukes is they have a lot of moving parts!

Parts, manuals are readily available for this and many other jukeboxes at the Chicagoland show in St. Charles , IL Future Show Dates

I have been going there for 35 years, and there are numerous vendors with all the parts you will need.

Regards, Mark.

I have a '54-'55 Rock-Ola juke box and I got the manual from a vendor on the internet. They even have complete 45 collections by year or decade. I looked and do not have the address any more. But google juke box parts and a lot of sites come up. My Rock-Ola works and I have it filled with my old 45s and still have extras that will not fit in it. Sadly, it is marooned in the basement since it was taken down there when there were a set of big steps. The new steps are too small to get it out unless I take it apart. But since it has little value, it will go with the house when I sell.

Later!
Mr. Ed
