1993 F250 7.5l V8. Any ideas why my Innova reader is telling me that my 460 has 6 cylinders? I used it two weeks ago and it showed 8 cylinders. Today it's saying 6 cylinders. The truck runs great.

The only work I've done in the interim was replace the IAC with a new Motorcraft part and I swapped the original radio with a unit from a 1994 Bronco. It was plug and play on the swap.

The only suggestion I have is to clean the pins on the data link connector. If the truck is running okay chalk it up to a code reader error.

 

Change the batteries in the Inova. Even if new.

Pulling & re-installing current ones works sometimes.

I have a sometimes wonky Inova, but it ain't done that.

Visited Big Bend & Terlingua a few years back. Love it.

 

Thanks for the help. Yep...the Big Bend is beautiful. We are in the process of building an off grid place out there. Solar for electric and water catchment off e roof for H2O.

We want to shoot for a spring trip again, preferably after wet fall. (after hurricane or wandering tropical storm) I've seen pics when it greens up. Wow.

Year we went was worst drought & trapped on highway twice by wild fires. Daytime views we hazy. Sunset & rise were spectacular. Place is beautiful regardless of the time for a desert.
