Help with 65 F100 straight six oil sending unit

I bought the PS10T and it would not thread into the threads in the block. I thought maybe it was weird because everything seems to be unique on this year's 240, so I went and found a SW-424 specifically for this year/engine combo that I probably paid too much for, and it's the same damn thread pitch as the PS10T.

Is there an adapter/fitting I am missing?

I can say for the models that had both the warning (idiot) light and gauge for the oil pressure, both senders screwed into

C5TZ-9B339-B - Oil Pressure Sender Fitting.

I'll take some pictures of that fitting and post it to my build thread.

If your truck only has the warning light and no oil pressure gauge then it would take a bit of research in that direction, but it was fairly common for the senders to screw into some adapter rather than directly into the block.

Thanks for your help, your last line confused me though. Mine has just the dummy light, no gauge. Is that the correct fitting?

I was just giving an example, not knowing from your first post which setup you had, single or dual senders. You can see the fittings for the senders in the dual setup here.

I'll look in a little bit and see if I can find info for the single setup and if there was an adapter. I'm most familiar with the dual setup.

1965/66 240/300 I-6 use a unique oil warning lamp sending unit that was not used on 1967 and later.

C5AZ-9278-A .. Oil Sending Unit-Use with Warning Lamp (Motorcraft SW-424) / Obsolete

1965/66 F100/350 240/300 I-6 / 1965/66 Galaxie/LTD 240 I-6.

The C5TZ-9B339-B adapter is only used if the truck has both the oil warning lamp and the oil pressure gauge.
