GM still waxes their frames?

I know that Super Duty has used ECoating since 2008, but I didn't know that GM still waxes their frames. I believe even RAM ecoats now. I thought waxing was long and gone and all the US truck manufactures switched to E-coating. I can understand cost reductions but for heavens sake, it's a Fully boxed frame. Why on earth would GM simply wax their frames knowing how easy it is for that to come off and how much damage water and mud can do to the channels.

Interesting.

It's god awful. Comes off really easy. Deleted two 2015 2500HDs in the last month and I swear 1/4 of the frame's wax ended up on me!

Yep, son has a 2015 3500 and I hate to even get near the frame. Nasty stuff.
