Where did you get your 2wd air dam

Looking at a 2wd air dam for my '16 4x4 250. There are a bunch to choose from close in price. Where did you get yours, and how is the quality? The oem is thin to begin with, so I don't want anything cheaper made or something that doesn't have a quality finish.

I have the 4x4 one on my truck. But just a thought if you're switching. Mine is sprayed with box liner and it sure is holding up nice and looks great imo. Gives it a little more substantial ness. My running boards are done the same too.

Hard to see in the pic I just snapped. It's a subtle 'mod'.

Thanks squisher, I'm usually not a fan of the bed liner sprayed anywhere except beds and floors of off road rigs, but that would be alright. I have the chrome package on my truck, but being an xl, the middle off the grill is the black plastic, so the air dam and grill would clash if I did that, and I'm not spraying my grill.Name: photo826.jpg

Makes sense. No one notices my air dam much. Lol. I like that the dam bedliner matches the running board, and on the running boards it actually adds a bit of grip too.

If I was looking to source a 2wheel drive air dam I'd head to the auto wreckers. We've got a few good ones locally here that I always seem to have good luck with.

I ripped mine off a few weeks ago, I could cut it and reattach it, but I ripped a hole in it on the right side, right where it bends some.Attachment 155762

Do you suppose it does enough to even notice a difference with it removed?

I think running down the interstate it would a little. I haven't driven enough interstate without it to tell you for sure. Some have reported a 2 mpg difference, I think that's a bit excessive. It may be in my head, but I think it drives a little better on the interstate with it on. But from 55-60 down, it has 0 effect. I've actually got some of my best mpg ever out of this truck the last few weeks without the air dam. Most of that is because I have been driving a little easier just to see what I could get without it.

Just ordered one from discount body parts for $64 shipped. Free returns, so if it sucks, I'll send it back. Seemoremud, after reading your reply again, I think you were referring to leaving it off, there are two brackets hanging down behind it for safety reasons, they could be cut off, but you are still left with an ugly flange that is exposed on the bottom of the bumper.

agreed. I was going to just leave mine off but the bottom of the bumper looked terrible without anything covering it. I also removed the two safety brackets because they hung down to far.

Like some have done, I took a knife to mine and shortened it just a bit above the bulge on the bottom. It just didn't look clean without the dam in place.
