Invoice Price and option questions...
When I purchased my new 2003 F250, I built it online and then took that paperwork to the dealer and they completed the order. At that time (late 2002), the online build showed the msrp and the invoice price.
I built a '17 online the other day and there is no longer an invoice price, only the msrp.
I was at my local dealer and saw a '16 F250 and started looking at the numbers. The msrp on the window sticker is $48,880.00. I talked to the salesman, went for a test drive, then explained that I wanted to know the invoice price. We went inside and he had some sort of internal printout and showed me a number, $45,833.00 I asked if that was the invoice price, what they paid, he said yes. Later that night I was on the dealer's website checking inventory and saw the truck I'm talking about. It shows the msrp of $48,880, then a price difference of $3,733, for a final price of $45, 147. This is before the current $3000 Ford rebate.
So it's clear to me that the salesman did not tell me the true invoice price. Is there anyway to find out the true invoice price for a particular vehicle?
In regards to options, I'm confused between the Heavy Duty Front Suspension Package vs. the Snow Plow Package vs. the Snow Plow/Camper Package.
I want to ensure that I get a truck that sits level. I remember having to pick one of these options when I bought my last truck. For the money, it seems like the Snow Plow/Camper Package is worth it as it offers a rear stabilizer and rear auxiliary springs. But will that ensure the truck sits level?

A dealers "Invoice Price" includes a "Holdback" payment of approximately 3% that the dealer gets quarterly from the manufacturer. Most dealers will discount some if not all of the holdback to move units. This very likely is the difference between the "Invoice Price" and the dealers advertised price.
