50 F1T87D-1 tranny

I've got this tranny in an F1 that I'm building. When I pulled the drain plug about a half a cup of rusty kerosene poured out. I used an magnet and there were no metal particles in the goop.

Is this the 'heavy duty' tranny?

How much fluid does this tranny take? Not finding much info on this particular tranny.

Thanks!

T87 is the HD 3-sp. I hate to say it but I doubt that was kerosene that came out, more likely water.

I don't see a spec for capacity either, so just fill it to the level hole. I'd guess around 3 qts. Use StaLube 140 GL-3, it comes in a gallon jug so you'll have plenty.

Thanks! Yeah could have been H2O :-( It did have a strong kerosene smell, though.
