I have a 2007 F-350 diesel 4X4. Can someone tell me how big a tank I have. I think I got ripped off at a fuel pump. Ticket sez I pumped 28.65 gallons. I have never put 28 gallons in the tank. Even on fumes.
I would think this would be in the owners manual, but it also depends on your trucks configuration as in single cab , ext cab, crew cab and bed length I believe it is about 29 gallons, but dont quote me on it
It's called a "29 gallon tank" but it has a lot of airspace in it. When the "check gauge" light came on mine religiously took 27 gallons. I could always stuff the tank with 32 gallons, 5 extra gallons to top off and show diesel in the fill neck. I ultimately cut off the vent tube (harpoon mod) and now it takes 32 gallons when the message pops up, no more hassle stuffing the tank.
Depending on the flow rate of the pump and how much the fuel foamed, 29 gallons is perfectly realistic to put into your tank.
My longbed truck has a "36 gallon" tank. But I've put 38 in it numerous times. I put 39 in it once or twice. So I think it's really about a 40 gallon unit.
