Might buy an F350 V10 Dually
Hello again,
I just sold my Hummer and am looking at a 1999 F350 Dually with the V10 motor. It has about 100k miles and is in my price range.
What should I look out for? I've read the exhaust manifolds can mess up as well as the spark plugs. Just look for standard vehicle issues when buying used?
I don't want a diesel because of maintenance costs and a lack of knowledge with diesels. Plus I think the F350 V10 will more than suit my needs. It looks amazing visually. Just need to know what check.
Thanks guys.

I always get an oasis report when buying a used Ford truck. Outside of that, I have no experience with the 6.8 engines. Being an 18 year old truck though, I would search high and low for oil leaks, jack up the front end and look for play in the steering components, both sided to side and up and down, while you are at it pull a wheel to check the brakes. With only 100k on it, the truck seems like a dedicated tow rig. I would ask for service records and see if the engine oil, coolant, transfer case (if four wheel drive), and trans were flushed under the extreme duty schedule. I'm sure others can chime in with more.
