04 f250 CC...rear seat ideas...buckets or excursion seats..?

i have both an 04 f350 CC and an excursion, so tomorrow i'm going to go mess around with the seats and see, but if anyone has a good pic of the excursion rear with the carpet removed (the 2nd row is all i'm concerned about), please post it. i can't find any good pics. i'm wondering if an excursion 2nd row will bolt in/fit easy in place of the stock SD rear bench. i love how my excursion 2nd row folds, and i HATE how the stock SD seat folds.

the excursion for those who don't know. i like how the seat bottom has the little pull loop, it folds forward, then the back part folds down flat, giving a lower flat loading area than how the stock SD seat folds. even folding just the bottom part, you can put bags and stuff on the floor, i hate how the SD seat bottom folds up.

another thing i'm looking into is stock front buckets in the rear, the back of the SD floor looks like the angle is similar if not the same as the front, although right now i'm just going by pics and what i can remember last time i had the seats out. the back part of the floor is flat and the front angles downward, just like the front.

If you could make the excursion seats work I would be all over it if I were you. I am sure that there are many who would love to have the fold ability the excursions have in the SD's but I doubt Ford would do it cost wise but it would be nice.

The front buckets I am sure that you could put in but I dont think you'd get the full functionality of them and you'd have to do some mods mounting wise to get them to be able to bolt to the floor securely. If you tackle this, you'll have to keep us updated on how it goes

Tomorrow I'll unbolt my SD seats and set the excursion ones in and see. My excursion seats are already unbolted.

Some of the later Super Duty's have locking storage bins that are underneath the seats. I quite like them.

so looking at the excursion seats, i don't think it will work, easily at least. even if it would bolt in somewhat easily, the way it folds i don't think would work with the under seat storage bin i have in my f350, the back of the seat that would fold down flat wouldn't be able to fold all the way down like in the excursion, because of the storage bin under the seat. so i've decided to not to do the excursion, but i am however looking at possibly putting a front bucket seat and a console there, if it bolts in. again just by looking at it, it looks like the floor is shaped the same, but i won't know until i test fit. i think it may just appear the same, it likely won't be an easy swap, although it's been done before.

Well worth the try anyways out of curiosity. I gather the mounting holes are in different spots and of course the storage that is under the rear seats of the SD would be in the road. Well never hurt to give it a shot.
