09 F350 Cruise Control Unresponsive
Hello all. My 2009 F350 cruise control has never worked since I bought it used and I'm trying to get it fixed without a trip to the dealer but to no avail unfortunately.
I have replaced the cruise control switch on the master cylinder and I checked every fuse connected to the brake system and the brake switch works as far as I can tell. I also tried the diagnostic check where you turn the truck on while holding the off button on the cruise control but the cruise light never flashes. I also thought maybe it was the clock spring or the connection in the steering column being loose but the clock spring makes no noise and the horn and airbag all checkout so I'm at a loss. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I figured it out already thank you though. It turned out to be the cruise control cut off switch on the master cylinder but it wasn't easy to figure it out. I originally put the switch part SW-6349 on the truck because that's what all of the parts sites that I looked at said to use. However that's the wrong part. It turns out that SW-6350 was the correct part and it took an unfortunate $130 diagnostic charge at the Ford dealer to figure it out because I gave up after trying everything. I was informed by the Diesel mechanic at the dealership that SW-6349 was notorious for causing problems with their vehicles not just the Super Duty's. He told me that SW-6350 was a fix to those problems and it comes as a kit and actually wound up being a cheaper part as well. So the brand new SW-6349 part didn't work out of the bag but SW-6350 did. So if anyone has my problem I'd definitely look there first and use SW-6350 NOT SW-6349 to replace it. Thanks.

An old thread you found lol. As far as I know it's still working but I sold the truck last October and got a 2015 F350 so I could get the 6.7L diesel. The cruise control worked great even when I sold it. Thanks for asking.
