Trailer lights having issues

So my 03 F350 has given me fits hookin up trailer lights ever since I bought it. A new plug is definitely a must, and had been for a while, but now that I've addressed most of the other squawks, I've decided to tackle this next. Recently, when I have the headlights on, the trailer brake controller (drawtite brand) lights up reading 0.0 whereas before, it only showed a . unless a trailer was hooked up. And on occaision the controller will blink in sequence with my turn signal.....only thing I can figure is possibly some chaffed wiring in the pigtail somewhere? So this leads to my first question..... looking under the truck, it looks like I can replace from the factory connector to the plug for the trailer lights with one unit. The wiring is all butchered in that stretch from the po. If so, does anybody have a recommendation on where I can source such a beast? And 2, is there such a part that would incorporate a 4-pin AND 7pin plug in the same harness? Or maybe even a 7 and 6 pin?

You should be able to find that at your Ford Dealer. If the connector end forward is good it should be just a matter of unplugging the connector and unbolting the old one, bolting up the new one and plugging it in.

You could look at an auto wreckers for an old combo one, but you never know what your going to get, so it may take some searching. Just remember to disconnect your battery cables before you do any work on yours so you dont accidentally blow any fuses or relays.... especially if you have to cut any wires or have to repair any wires.

I havent seen any 6 pins in a combo like that, most of the ones I have seen are the 4 and 7 pin combos, but you can always ask about that

Ok, I will call the dealer tomorrow and see what they have. The 6 pin in the bed for the gooseneck is sketchy too, I haven't traced it out but hopefully it's replaceable the same way.

If your concerned about it, I would undo it and look at the wiring that thee person before did and make sure all is good and it isn't rubbing. Better to be safe than sorry, if you dont like it you can always re do it and clean it up, then hopefully it wont be an issue down the road when you need it

I would unplug the trailer harness near the bumper to see if that is the problem.
Looks like this:

I was actually lookin on etrailer today for replacement parts. If it ever gives me a day that ain't 100 degrees or raining like Noah and the flood, I'll get under there and chase the wires and see what I can find. They only list 99-01 for fitment .......I'm assuming my 03 will be the same.......
