'74 4x4 pickup-bed tool box

In case you're wondering, the box on my '74 if from a later vintage P/U. Have it off the frame and turned upside-down to address some rust issues and want to remove the whole tool box in preparing to paint everything anew. Looks like "all" I need to do is remove screws/bolts, etc., and the whole thing slides back and out. Please tell me if I've got this right, or dead wrong, and any tips that will make this go right. There's nothing I could find in the factory repair books that helps. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, it all pretty much bolts together.
Here's the illustration from the parts catalog.

Take pics and keep track of what hdwr goes where. Then come reinstall time new hdwr and seal and you are good to go. If you do not have a key for it, time to pop the door and take it to a local lock smith to cut you one.

Maybe even take some pics and post them here for the next time someone does a search for this, they will find a useable thread.

Thanks. Took another look at it and I had it backwards. Comes out through the "front." I've been taking pics to help me get it back in. And if it works out then I'll post them.
And this is definitely not the spare tire carrier: way too small. It's like an oversized glove box that opens to the outside of the truck, passenger side. Parts-wise it's quite a bit different from the pdf, but that's the only one I found too. And I do have the key for it. Miracle.
Thanks everyone.

(Did I mention that whoever invented PB Blaster is a genius?)

Are you saying that the box is different than the one that is shown in the top half of the .pdf I posted? If it is, then it must be something that was aftermarket. The one in the illustration is the only design that Ford had.
The illustration of the super camper special spare tire carrier in the lower half is irrelevant, that's just the way Ford laid out their catalog.
