Put in a new cam and lifters in my 351w, intake from a friend had some porting work done, pic isn't of my intake but the question is-what are these for?

 

Distribution ports for vacuum emissions stuff from the engines past.

 

As above, smog stuff. When the engine overheats the device allows advance. It is leftover crap from the era before the Japanese ate Detroit's lunch on clean motors.
Get rid of it if your MI inspections allow. Plug the water port on the intake.
