all is good til I hit 30mph (over drive) then I get both a shudder on accell....and what sounds like a metal plate vibrating and ringing. If I put the truck into tow mode...the problem moves up to 37/38 mph.


my thoughts are either a cracked flex plate or broken or loose flexplate related hardware.

other than that tranny runs fine, fluids are clear, temps are normal.

any opinions and been there done that...doessent seem like a common occurance.

Can you see the flex plate by removing the starter?

 

from what I've seen on youtube...the crack would be very close to the center of the plate mounting bolts...so...dont think it can be seen from the outer ring.

the cracks on you tube are very hard to see...might even need some dye penetrate

plan on dropping the tranny to get a good look at the plate.

 

this is what I suspect I will find.



I think mine is probally partially cracked anywhaere from 1/4 to 1/2 way around.

will probally pull it next weekend.
