The usual reason that applies to all series of trucks with the Warranty Plate located on the left door face:

People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.

I never thought of that. I usually come across cars that are deliberately cloned and not plain and simple "I can't be bothered to change it" syndrome !

Ok, oil changes all done. I pulled the plugs to make sure no water in the cylinders, drained the engine and added flushing oil and other than a stuck starter thankfulky she ran fine.

After flushing I drained and replaced the engine and gearbox oil and she's mobile again 😁👍🏻 - now I need to sort out cosmetic damage which isn't too back really.

Parts for C600 trucks are pretty much non-existant in England and I'm having major problems sourcing parts suppliers in the US for the C600, even an ebay search doesn't show much. Any suggestions where I go for mechanical, electrical parts and body/trim parts ? I need a front fender top indicator light unit and passenger side wiper arm as these were smashed off in the impact plus various service parts. All help us much appreciated !

Hi Bil, thanks for the link to Green Sales, that is indeed the indicator unit I need. Is "13368" the full Ford part number ? (seems too small to me). I went onto their website but they only seem to allow you to search by part number and this number returned no results. Maybe I'm missing something but are they as old school as they appear - no parts images, order by phone etc ?

It is repairable but having had a good look at the passengers door I think it would be easier to source a good used replacement. Any tips where to look for one ?

Pics in parts catalog illustrations only show the basic (13368) part number. The text section is required to add the prefix and suffix to get the complete part number.

C1TZ-13368-H (replaced C1TB-13368-H) .. Lamp-Front Turn Indicator-Outboard Type - 26" long single lead wire-use for turn signals only / Obsolete

1961/66 F100/1100 & C/CT500/1100 / 1963/69 N/NT500/1100.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 12 = 704-786-8139.

C1TB-13368-H =

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 2 = 513-731-3304.

Note: When typing part numbers into websites, remove any spaces and/or hyphens, type it like this: C1TB13368H

Really like your truck! I have a C900 that used to be a fire truck which I converted to a dump truck. I enjoy driving it. And I would like to hear the story on how you ended up in the ditch. That sounds like a good one!

Glad you like the truck. it's been great since I got it a couple of years back, no problems whatsoever.

The ditch incident was a real bitch. I was on the way with a friend to collect a 1948 Ford convertible I'd bought which was located around 100 miles from home. It was a lovely day, the truck was going fine and all was good in the world.

I was following the sat nav, my friend Stewart and I were talking and I didn't notice when the sat nav took us off of the main road and across country. The roads weren't terrible but when I realised we'd gone off the main roads I said to Stewart that when we'd collected the '48 we definitely wouldn't be coming back that way.

After a few miles we were on a dead straight road which cut through huge fields (one lane in each direction with no verge, just a big water filled ditch then fields either side). The road was raised up around 4 feet higher than the fields.

There were no houses around and no cars on the road other than one car which had pulled up on the left had side of the road around 200 yards in front of me (don't forget we drive on the left and I was driving a wide left hand drive truck on a fairly narrow road). There were no cars coming towards me and no cars behind so I slowed down and pulled to the right to overtake. When I was around 15-20 feet away from the stopped car it unexpectedly pulled out into the middle of the lane without indicating. I tried to avoid it and instinctively swerved to the right and the front passenger wheel went over the edge of the road and the truck went down into the water filled ditch - which was around 8 feet below the field level. As the road was 4 feet higher than the field and the ditch was 8 feet lower the truck slid 12 feet down, passenger side facing down, truck laying on a 45 degree angle. Neither of us were hurt but the water at the bottom of the ditch filled the passenger foot well, both mine and Stewart's cell phones flew straight into the water and everything in the cab flew everywhere including the cash I'd taken to pay for the '48 Ford. We grabbed what we could and climbed out, the car which had pulled out was nowhere to be seen.

What then followed was like something out of the Keystone Cops. I absolutely had to collect the '48 Ford that night, we had no phones as they were both ruined, the sellers number and address were on my phone (I now write everything down on paper as well), we were in the middle of nowhere with a 4 ton truck in a 12 foot ditch. Interesting!!

I'm running out of time to write the rest of this saga now so will post this and carry on later

Hey there...

Don't neglect to drain the (rear) differential if the axle went in. That would also refill with 90w.

Hard to explain - it went in front passenger side down but rear up, on about a 30 degree angle both down and sideways. Only the cab went in initially, after 6 hours in the ditch before the heavy recovery truck arrived the truck had settled and the dip stick went under water which is why we drained and flushed the engine and gearbox. The diff was well out of the water. I would have taken photos but my phone had gone footwell swimming !

That's a funny story! Lucky that no one was hurt. And also pretty minimal damage for the depth of that ditch!
