What size wrench do I need to undo my rear brake lines?

Hello, just tried replacing my wheel cylinders which involves disconnecting the rear brake lines... long story short I broke the end of the line off. I was using vise grips and hind sight being 20/20 I should have used a wrench. Does anyone know what size wrench to use so I dont break the other side as well?

3/8" / 10mm? Not quite sure on that. Make sure you use flare nut wrenches.

I dont happen to have any of those... any tricks for freeing the lines without breaking them or rounding them off?

Penetrating oil? You could try to take the bolts out that hold the wheel cylinder to the backing plate so you can get a better purchase on the flare nut. I would only use vise grips if all else fails.
